How to Design Websites that Really Sell
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Designing a website can prove to be a challenge, especially if you are unsure what to include on your website. These days, customers are looking for more usability and less decoration – simple is better. Use the following tips to help design a website that will attract users and function well.
When designing a website, it is important to make a note of the aspects of the website that you want to shine through. If you are selling goods, you want to have a good layout for customers to access your products. Make sure you size your pictures small, but large enough to be shown. Because large pictures take longer to download, only make your pictures as large as they need to effectively showcase your products.
Avoid clutter. Too much information on one page will only serve to confuse your customers. This is not what you want to do. If your customers cannot navigate the website with ease, it is unlikely that they will purchase your products or service. It is also unlikely that they will ever return or recommend your site to friends and family.
Flash is not necessary. While attractive, it can take a long time to download and if your customers are running on dial-up you are talking several minutes. Many users will lose patience and move onto the next website in their list. If you like the look of Flash, offer it only as an entrance to your site, but also offer the option to skip the intro for those users who have slow connections.
Your content matters. If you sell products, emphasize why the products are so great. Draw your users in with catchy phrases and really sell the products to them. Avoid making your entire website sound like a sales pitch. Rather, leave the descriptions to the products and offer useful information on the rest of the website – such as articles, tips and recommendations.
Include color but do not overdo it. Colors really help a website to pop, but too many colors or obnoxiously bright colors can be a turn-off. You can have the best products in the world, but if your customers cannot stand to look at the website, you will not sell much. The same is true for services websites. If your website is distracting your users from the information, it will not be in your company’s best interest. It is okay to use color, but tone it down.
There are many tips out there to help you design an attractive website that will appease your customers. Keep it simple, yet attractive enough to draw viewers in. If you find that you are not happy with your results, it may be time to bring in a professional – make sure you hire one who enforces your ideas.

Facebook Ads
The Affiliate Mini Mall
You would have to be living under a rock if you don’t know about popular social networking sites like Facebook. With its popularity, why not use it as a marketing tool? Here is the lowdown on Facebook ads and why they work.
If you haven’t been on Facebook then check it out. People have found relatives, old college friends and high school chums through the network on Facebook. You can create pages to be set up as a fan page for you, a forum-type page or some other idea you have in mind. What you want is to get your friends interested and then they can subscribe and interest their friends.
When you sign up for a Facebook account there are many different points of information that you can provide. All of these searching tools are up for grabs with your Facebook ads. Best of all, the traffic is already there. Millions of people flock to social networks. What you need to do is get their attention.
Here are a few steps to getting a Facebook ad going. First, create a page. You have to have a website promotion page, a fan page or something else that is owned by you. People can come and visit and learn things about your site.
You need an ad that says what you want and need to say. Keywords are important here but not the only consideration. Choose titles that are short and to the point. Use powerful and upbeat wording for the ads.
Here is the really fun part. You get to choose where you want the ads distributed. With Google ads, you can use relevant keywords to determine which search engine pages your ads appear on. With Facebook, you have many more variables based on information that is gathered by the site.
You can get as specific as you want with these ads for maximum target ability. Not just demographics or gender is considered, but relationship status, likes and dislikes. These ads will appear on pages that are relevant to your niche ads. Your ads will also appear on your page for your fans and their friends to see also.
Now, on to the price. How much you pay depends on what type of ad program you want. If you are paying per click, then you can evaluate how much business you are doing in relation to the amount you are paying for advertising.
You may not want to spend too much until you see how well your ads are doing. You will definitely get more visibility in a place where everyone congregates.
If you’ve tried Google, give Facebook ads a try. You might be surprised at the results. They can make your advertising dollars work smarter and not harder for you.

Boost Your Website Earnings
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Are you an online entrepreneur? That means you have a website set up. Every now and then it is good to evaluate how your marketing efforts are working with your website. This is one way to boost your earnings.
Is your website doing all that it can do for you? If not, then you may want to re-evaluate your website structure.
Ask yourself one question: Is my site relevant? If you are using SEO to create page titles, tag lines and anchor text within content, then you are on the right track. But, even an informational website can do more to pay for itself and create income for your business.
Here are some ways to boost the earnings.
* Affiliate programs – You can promote products that are complementary to yours on your website. Each time someone clicks on the links, they are directed to that site. You are credited based on the way the program is set up. Choose an affiliate program with a full toolbox of aids to help with your promotion and also incentives for top sellers.
* Create a newsletter – This encourages others to read and share your site. It is also one way to build your list of potential customers. Create an opt-in page where they can enter their name and email address in exchange for a free monthly newsletter in their inbox.
* Use clear navigation – Include a site map so visitors can see at a glance what your site has to offer. Use buttons that clearly tell customers what action you want them to perform. This way there will be no doubt in their minds. Your buttons can be a “call to action” for affiliate programs and your own products.
* Showcase your products – Create an online store or catalogue where visitors can see your products and read a description before they buy. Offer deals where they can get free items for buying certain products, or referral bonuses.
* FAQs page – This is where they can find out about you and your customer service. Use it to answer commonly asked questions so that you aren’t saddled with emails all containing obvious inquiries.
* Guest blogging – Agree to blog for others, in a complementary area of your niche, in exchange for links to your site. This way you can give their readers a taste of your style and what you have to offer. You can extend the same courtesy to the other blogger to create a mutually beneficial partnership.
* Look around – Find the sites that are the most popular in your niche and on the internet at large and see how they are using their website to maximize earnings. Try a few pages from their book and see how it works for you.

Money-Saving Ideas for Your Home-Based Business
The Affiliate Mini Mall
The more money you save, the bigger your bottom line. Here are five money-saving ideas for your home-based business.
#1 Reduce, reuse and recycle
When it comes to office supplies and equipment you can spend a lot of money. A simple desk chair can cost hundreds. However, a used desk chair or a repurposed one can cost just a few dollars. And don’t forget to reuse items. For example, you can print on both sides of your printer paper. A PDF e-book can turn into scratch paper for planning purposes. You can use coffee cans and shipping boxes to store supplies and files. Take a look at the items you have around you. What can you reduce, reuse and recycle to save money?
#2 Get rid of your business credit card
If you don’t pay off your monthly balance on your business credit card, you’re paying interest. This is money you could be using to grow your business. Instead it’s helping the bank grow their business. Switch your credit card to a debit card. It offers all the same advantages a credit card does. It makes online purchasing a snap. However, you won’t have to pay interest or monthly fees.
#3 Analyze your existing merchant and bank accounts
When you opened your business you may have opened a merchant account. This would enable you to take credit cards. You may have also opened a PayPal account. Take a look at the various accounts you have and assess if there is a way to save money.
For example, can you close your merchant account and open a merchant account with PayPal? You’ll consolidate your accounts and perhaps save money each month. Also take a look at your existing bank accounts. Some accounts charge a hefty fee each month. There are free checking and savings accounts you can open for your business. IF you’re paying a lot in fees it’s worth the switch.
#4 Analyze your outsourcing plan
Do you outsource? Is your outsourcing plan as streamlined as it can be? For example, you may have one contractor managing transcription and another contractor managing your affiliates. Would it be cheaper to hire one person to manage both tasks? Take a look at your current outsourcing practices and make sure they make financial and business sense.
#5 Are you using the right technologies?
ABC company has the best Smartphone on the market. The owner loves her Smartphone and all of the wonderful tools and applications it offers. The phone costs her $60 a month, not including her $60 unlimited data fee. However, the owner of ABC company works from home. She’s never more than thirty seconds away from her laptop.
Thus email and planning and organizing tools are always available on her computer. This essentially makes her Smartphone nothing more than an expensive toy. She could get a $20 a month pay as you go phone and save herself $1200 annually.
This story is a common story. We love technology and we love to have the latest and greatest even if it isn’t important for business success. Analyze the technology you’re spending money on. Are you using it? Is it vital to the success of your business? If not, get rid of it.
Saving money is usually a simple process of taking a look at your expenses. What can you improve or eliminate? Remember - the more you save, the more you make!

CPM versus PPC Advertising – Which One Works for You
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Creating a search engine advertising campaign can boost your business. When you’re creating your campaign you’re going to have many decisions to make. One of those decisions is whether to choose CPM or PPC. If you’re new to search engine advertising, this can be a confusing choice. Let’s clear up some of the mystery and help you make the best decision for your ad goals.
What Are CPM and PPC?
CPM stands for Cost Per Thousand Impressions. That means for every thousand people who see your ad, you’ll pay an agreed-upon fee. An ‘impression’ is an instance of your ad appearing on a website.
PPC stands for Pay Per Click. This means that each time someone clicks on your advertisement you’ll pay an agreed-upon fee.
The Differences between PPC and CPM
In many cases you’ll likely find that CPM is much more cost effective than PPC. With a PPC ad you may pay a dollar each time someone clicks on your ad. Ten clicks means ten dollars out of your pocket. However, with CPM your ad may only cost you a dollar for a thousand impressions. So on a very basic level the ad is much less expensive if you choose CPM over PPC.
However, the click-through rate for a CPM ad may be much lower than a PPC ad. It depends largely on the goals for your ad. You can receive great awareness and exposure with a CPM ad.
CPM enables you to practically set it and forget it. If you have a PPC ad, you’re going to want to pay close attention to your budget and your ad’s performance. It’s also difficult to measure the success of a CPM advertisement. With PPC each click and/or conversion is relevant data you can analyze.
Finally, PPC makes you susceptible to click fraud. CPM doesn’t; since you don’t pay for each click it doesn’t matter how many times a fraudster clicks on your ad.
If you can afford it, consider trying both options to see which generates better results for you. Create a goal for your ad and establish systems to measure success. Make sure to use identical advertisements for both campaigns so you eliminate other variables. At the end of a specific period of time, examine the results. Take a look not only at your website traffic, sales, clicks and conversions but also at your return on investment.
If your budget is tight, consider starting with CPM. It’s low risk. If you are launching a new product or service and want to really drive traffic, then consider PPC. Watch your budget, your clicks and your conversions. It’s easy for a PPC campaign to get out of hand. To your success!

Free Advertising Ideas for Small Businesses
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Advertising is often one of the least used methods to promote and market a business. Why? Because advertising can be expensive. Additionally, many advertising methods are unproven. The results can be unpredictable. Smart business owners are careful with their money. They generally tend to choose proven marketing methods. However, advertising doesn’t have to be expensive. There are many free advertising option small business owners can use.
Here are seven free advertising ideas for small businesses.
#1 Register the business website on free listing directories like DMOZ which would help increase the online traffic on the small business website.
#2 Utilize classified ad sites. Create ads to advertise a specific product or service. Make sure to create your ad like you would any other paid ad. Solve a problem. Create a compelling headline. Offer a call to action.
#3 Add your business to local search engines like Google Places, Local Yahoo, Local MSN and so on. Add reviews to your profile. Make sure the address and contact information is consistent with what you have published on your site. Also add a few local keywords to your website SEO strategy. For example, if you’re located in Austin Texas and your website is about fitness training, then you might choose “Fitness training Austin Texas.”
#4 Publish ads on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace. Don’t go crazy with the advertising. Simply publish them on your profile page or include them occasionally in your posts.
#5 Swap advertisements with relevant websites. For example, if you’re a fitness trainer and you know a nutritionist, you can each publish an ad for the other on your website. It’s a simple advertising partnership. You can also publish ads in each other’s newsletters.
#6 Participate in industry forums that allow you to promote your business. You can create advertisements specifically for your forum audience.
#7 Use free listing sites like Craigslist to advertise for your business. Create the advertisements like you would for any other medium. Have a captivating headline, copy that provides a solution to a problem and then a call to action.
You can also print flyers and brochures and leave them around town. And while it’s not free, you can also print your website on stickers or magnets and place them on your car. These types of ads generally don’t cost much and they can have a good return on investment - particularly for local businesses.
Free advertising opportunities are all around you. It just takes a bit of creativity to recognize and capitalize on them. To your success!

Should You Let Your Teen Start a Web Business?
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Many children are natural entrepreneurs. If your child is motivated to start their own web business, it can be a great way for them to harness that natural instinct. They’ll also learn a lot about themselves and how to run a business. It can be a valuable education.
On the other hand, the web can also be a dangerous place. There are scammers, thieves, and criminals just waiting to prey on children. Allowing your child to start an online business may feel scary and uncertain.
The following guidelines may help you feel more comfortable letting your teen start their own web business.
Do – Support your child to choose a web-based business model that fits their lifestyle. For example, becoming a service provider may take up too much of your child’s time. When grades and school activities are a priority, they might not be able to meet their responsibilities to their clients. However, affiliate marketing, information marketing and even selling products they’ve made online are all viable business models.
Do – Help them create a starting budget and financial systems. Children often jump into things without considering the costs. That can leave mom and dad footing the bill. Help your child realize what expenses they will have to start and operate their business. Help them plan for how to save them and how they’re going to manage cash flow. YOU might consider loaning them the start-up costs and creating a repayment plan.
Do – Help your child create a time management plan. This is one of the biggest challenges for any online marketer. Most teenagers struggle with this on a daily basis. Add an online business into the mix and it can get problematic.
Do – Set expectations. It may help to set firm ground rules and expectations. For example, no online business activities until all homework is done. And no online business if grades fall below a B.
Do – Help your child learn about privacy online. Not only for their customers but also for themselves. Help them learn about protecting their customer’s information, protecting themselves from hackers, protecting their online identity and keeping their information private. There are many online predators and scammers who perceive teenagers as potential targets. Unless their identity helps them market their business, they should keep their personal information quiet.
Do – Help your teen manage financial expectations. It’s easy to believe you’re going to be the next internet millionaire. However, that may not happen. Find the balance between supporting your child’s goals and objectives and helping them stay grounded. They’ll be better able to make business decisions if they can approach their business realistically.
Online business is a great way for many teens to make extra money. They have the freedom to control their hours, earn money doing something they enjoy and learn the ins and outs of owning their own business. It can be an amazing learning experience.

Finding Inspiration and Motivation Every Day
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Even if you absolutely love your business, it can be difficult to find daily inspiration and motivation. However, when you can wake up each day excited and ready to go, your business and your personal life will thrive. There are tremendous benefits to finding inspiration and motivation every day. Here’s how to get it done:
#1 Gratitude - Gratitude accomplishes amazing things. One way to wake up motivated and inspired is to create a habit of gratitude. Journal the things you’re grateful for at the end of every day. Or wake up and before you get out of bed, journal what you’re grateful for today. Create a habit of gratitude and you’ll establish a positive and energetic mindset. There really is so much to be grateful for.
#2 Set small goals - Long-term goals are great. However, when a goal is far off in the future, it’s tough to find motivation to achieve them. However, smaller goals can be inspiring. You can set smaller daily or weekly goals to spur inspiration and motivation. Remember to set goals that get you excited. If you’re not a money-motivated person, for example, then a monetary goal isn’t going to motivate you.
#3 Do what you love first - It’s easy to get into a ritual rut. You wake in the morning, have your coffee, check your email and start working. The thing you love to do most is often down on your priority list. This makes starting your day less than exhilarating. However, if you rearrange your daily routine and do what you love first, then getting out of bed is easy and exciting.
#4 Affirmations - Mindset is powerful. An affirmation is a positive statement that helps you create inspiration and motivation. Affirmations help reaffirm and inspire a positive mindset. Determine what’s preventing you from feeling motivated and inspired each day and create an affirmation that supports change.
#5 Reward yourself - Some days are just tough to get through. Instead of trying to avoid them or forcing yourself to push through them, reward yourself. Rewards help you stay focused on the end result and the silver lining. Additionally, a reward doesn’t have to be huge. Sometimes a simple reward like your favorite coffee drink at the local coffee shop can be enough to help you stay positive and inspired all day long.
#6 Surround yourself - One great way to stay inspired and motivated is to surround yourself with inspiration. Listen to inspiring music. Create a home office that you enjoy spending time in. Surround yourself with the things you love. It’ll make each and every day so much more enjoyable.
#7 Take time off - When most people think about taking time off, they look at annual vacations. However, it’s important to take more time off than just a week or two a year. Consider taking time off each week or month. Even a few hours or a day or two can really make a difference. It gives you time to recharge and find that original source of inspiration and motivation.
Building and growing a business is difficult. Finding inspiration and motivation can make the difference between a struggling business and discontent to a thriving business and joy. Use these seven tips to help find inspiration and motivation each and every day.

How Writing Can Help Heal Depression
The Affiliate Mini Mall
Depression is a difficult problem that often goes undetected in the sufferer. It can have a paralyzing effect, wrapping the depressed person in a fog of darkness that prevents him or her from thinking clearly and getting help.
It seems so enormous and overwhelming that many sufferers give up without even trying to help themselves. However, writing can be very therapeutic for a depressed person, especially because it does not involve having to face people (which can be difficult). While seeking therapy, counseling, and possibly medication are important steps to take in getting help, writing definitely has a place in healing from depression.
Define the Problem
One of the things that can make depression so frightening is that it is hard to define. When you write, your thoughts and feelings are in black and white and can be evaluated and read by you. Problems look more manageable that way. Being able to view these issues clearly can help you get a handle on them. It can even make your problems look smaller.
Record of Your Progress
As you write down your thoughts, you have a record of your thoughts and feelings to look back on and see your progression. What you were struggling with five years ago or five days ago may look quite different now. As you read your journal, it can help to see that you came through the struggles of the past. That means you can make it through your present struggles as well.
The Inner World
Sigmund Freud had a theory that depression is a symptom of some unaddressed issue of the subconscious that needs attention. He theorized that the inability of depressed people to go about their normal routine - you can not eat, sleep, or concentrate it seems - is your subconscious way of forcing you to stop everything and pay attention to it.
Regardless of what you think of Freud, writing does give you access to your personal inner world that you could ordinarily ignore. Learning what is actually in your innermost being can be very insightful and healing.
Keep It Private for Now
When you write, you do not need the judgment of others or the pressure to appear brilliant or "correct." You are not writing for others, but for yourself. If, in the back of your mind, you are thinking of who is going to read your writings and what he or she might think of them, you are inhibited. Eventually, you may want to share your writings, but only with your counselor, therapist, or trusted friend. For now, write only for your own healing and be accountable only to yourself.
Taking Action
Writing is helpful in that you are doing something - something that does not require money, making appointments, or anything else that can seem overwhelming when you are depressed. Depression can make you feel very helpless, but knowing that you can take solace in writing - and writing is actually something you can do to help yourself - can help you heal.
Making It Beautiful
As you write, you may be delighted to find that ugly, sad thoughts turn into beautiful phrases. Your depression can be transformed into something moving, meaningful, and creative. This can transform your view of your depression.

The Importance of Website Advertising
The Affiliate Mini Mall
It is a common misconception that if you build a website, the traffic will come. The process from building to profit making takes a little more elbow grease than that. Website advertising is important.
Advertising gets the word out about who you are and what you are selling, whether it is goods or services. On the Internet, your site is one of thousands. To have a fighting chance, use every means available to you to advertise.
Website advertising can be done online. The Internet is a virtual reality. Think of each website as a different store. Some stores you like to go in and some you haven’t had a need to visit. But, if you saw some catchy ads for other stores while you were shopping, you might be inclined to visit them.
Since you want to advertise what you are selling, you’ll need to find a place online where that is possible. Choose sites that have something in common with your product but are not in direct competition with your market. Most sites sell advertising space as a way of making extra revenue.
Consider affiliate programs. You can advertise on sites where you will be noticed and do the same for others. As you grow, consider Google Ad Words for your own site to make some money and promote similar sites.
Make use of your signature line in emails. Include your business website address and a tagline in addition to your name. Now, anyone who gets email from you will know where to find your website. Your main purpose is to keep your website, and thus your products, in the forefront of everyone’s mind. Chances are people will visit you if they see the address everywhere they look.
Along that same line, you can advertise offline for online businesses. When you create your business cards, be sure to add your website address and in the same size font as the other pertinent information. It is easy to log on to the Internet in the office, at home, or at a cyber café and see what is going on at your website.
In fact, people would rather have a website address than a telephone number. A telephone number conjures up visions of someone with an annoying voice trying to pressure you into buying something. On the Internet, people can satisfy their curiosity without any strings attached. In that way, a website provides an excellent advertising opportunity.
The competition on the Internet is stiff. Each website is clamoring for their piece of the market right along with you. To increase your traffic, you have to stand above the rest. One way to do this is to advertise your website as often and in as many places as you can. But, not just any places — appropriate on and offline venues your potential customers will see.

Top 10 Traffic Ideas for your Blog
The NetMarketer
Blogs are popular ways to create an online presence for personal and business reasons. You can build a blog for free and begin posting content right away. But, what good is that content if no one is reading it. Here are ten ideas to bring in the traffic your blog needs to survive.
Of all the successful blogs on the Internet, hundreds more have failed. Running a blog is like running a business website. Unless you are willing to put the time in and treat it seriously, you won't be blogging long.
That is not to say that the failed bloggers weren't serious about blogging. Mostly, new bloggers aren't prepared for the work that goes into creating a successful blog. Just building the blog doesn't mean that people will necessary come to you. You pursue the audience and give them a reason to see what you have to say.
1. Fresh Content - no one wants to visit a blog day after day and see the same posts. Update your blog content at least twice a week. This will be easier if you write several posts ahead of time and upload them at the appropriate times.
2. Article Marketing - the niche you've chosen for your blog is one that interests you. If it is interesting you will spend more time doing it. Create content not only for your blog but also to be submitted to article directories. Use the resource box to advertise your blog so people can find you.
3. Social Networking - these sites are everywhere. Join Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Twitter or a dozen others and make connections. You can join groups of likeminded people who are also bloggers or entrepreneurs.
4. Viral Marketing - this is where you spread the word about your blog. Talk to friends, family and even strangers. Give out business cards that have your blog address on them.
5. Use RSS Feeds - RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Readers can subscribe to your feed and get email updates when new content is posted. It is an easy way for them to keep up with your blog without spending all day online.
6. Submit Blog to Search Engines - doing this allows your blog to be ranked. Google and Yahoo! Are two of the most popular search engines you want to crawl your blog pages. It doesn't guarantee top ranking, though. You'll have to do a little more work for that.
7. Joining Forums - as a blogger you are a budding entrepreneur. Right now you are marketing yourself to find traffic and then profit. Become a member of business forums; work at home forums and others to meet new people and share ideas. You can add a link to your blog in the signature line so others can find you.
8. Visit other blogs - show your appreciation to those who visit you by also posting comments on their blogs. It is a kindness that shows others you are not just out to advertise your blog alone. Add links to your blog in your comments.
9. SEO Marketing - whatever you write, use relevant keywords. Keyword density between three and ten percent is good for getting higher page rankings in search engines. Base your keywords on a research you do to find the most popular words used in search engines for your niche.
10. Social Bookmarking - submitting posts to social bookmarking sites allows others who are members of those sites to track you back to your blog.
Using any of these ideas will start the traffic moving in your direction. It takes time but you will build the readership you want.

Choosing A Good Domain Name
The NetMarketer
Choosing the name of your business is one of those decisions that feel monumental. It's like naming a child. It represents you, your passions, your goals and your new life. Additionally, the name of a business is a powerful marketing tool. Jane's Store may feel right to the owner however it doesn't communicate the benefits and uniqueness of the business to potential customers.
Step One: Give yourself time to come up with a business name that feels right and fits your business niche or theme. Your domain name will let your visitors know what your website is all about even before visiting your site. In other words, give away as much information in your domain name as possible, leaving no room for your visitors to guess what your website is selling. This will help with google ranking also.
For example, if your name happens to be Jane Smith and you own a shoe store then janesshoes.com would be much more appropriate and informative than janesmith.com. Try to keep your domain name within a range of 13-15 characters, as shorter domain names tend to stick in people's minds. It also makes it easier for them to type out your web address in their browsers without misspelling or leaving out characters.
Step Two: Use Strategic Keywords
When you are able to place your keywords into your domain name, it helps increase your search engine ranking because your domain name is one of the primary places the search engines like Google and Yahoo look to when indexing websites.
Avoid using any extra characters in your domain name like apostrophes and hyphens because they affect rankings and they're more difficult to remember.
In addition to choosing a name that fits your business and utilizes strategic keywords, there are a few more considerations.
- Make it easy to remember.
- Make it unique.
- Make it easy to spell
- Make sure it is available
Once you've chosen a domain name, your next step is to register your domain. Be 100% ready to register when you sit down to your computer. Domain names can be snatched up quickly and you will want to capture your ideal domain name as soon as you know it's available.

How to Use Content to Sell More Products
Unlike offline, when you run a business on the web, words often speak louder than actions. What your potential customers read is what will ultimately determine if those people make the decision to buy from you.
When you hear the phrase, "content is king," don't make the mistake of creating content for content's sake. Content is great and the extra traffic it can bring is a bonus. You just need to make sure you're making the most of it. Here are some tips for making the most of your content.
Show them what to do and what tools they need to get the job done.
Reader's love "How to" articles and you can create some great content around showing people how to do certain things. As you create these types of articles, give enough detail so they know what they should do and also recommend the tools that will help them get the job done.
Add your product promotions wisely
Don't end your article with "Buy Here" or "Visit xyz.com" People have a tendency to scan an article before reading and if they see wording that looks like you are selling something right off the bat, they either ignore it or will immediately move on. So, don't give them instructions to buy, instead use phrases like "Further Recommended Reading", "Further Recommended Study" or "Learn More".
We find keeping it highly informative sounding inspires plenty of click-through and sales. If you sound like a used car salesman, they may not believe a word you say. Inspire confidence in your knowledge and your recommendations
Include links to your products within your articles.
Some article directories don't allow promotions within an article, but subtle promotions in the middle of an article are often the most powerful, so make sure to sell in the articles you publish on your site and when submitting to other publishers that do allow links in the body of your article.
Provide incentive to other to publish your articles.
If you're distributing your articles for publication, ALWAYS allow people to substitute your links with their affiliate links in your article. It's an extra incentive for them to publish your article over someone else's.
Whatever you do, ensure every piece of content you create and publish serves a purpose. Whether it's to get people to sign up for a mailing list, recommend a product through an affiliate link or sell more of your own product - don't be shy about letting your content do that for you.
Editor's Note: If you'd like to take the hassle out of content creation and get back to running your business, let All Custom Content take care of all the little details. For professionally researched and prepared content, visit Annette & Alice at http://www.AllCustomContent.com

Converting Hobbies and Skills into a Home-Based Business
The NetMarketer
Everyone is good at something. What if that "something" could make you money? If you have a hobby with that potential, you could be making more money.
You might wonder how people come up with some of the ideas they have for businesses. Mostly, it comes from a love of a certain hobby or a skill that a person possesses. There are several hobbies that can be turned into money generators - just look at eBay.
If you have been looking to start a home-based business, consider your skills and any hobbies that keep you busy on a regular basis. Here are a few questions to ask when considering a hobby for your business enterprise:
1. Is my product unique? New products peak people's interests.
2. Is there a market for my product? Some markets are saturated with certain items so it's important to do some market research to see if your idea is viable.
3. Do I have the time to devote to the business? Since you already do what you do as a hobby, the answer to this question is usually going to be "yes."
4. Can I meet the demand? Making crafts, if that's your hobby, takes time. It is possible to get a large demand and go out of business because you can't fill your orders in a reasonable amount of time.
Now that the wheels have started turning in your brain, you are probably wondering what types of hobbies or skills make good home-based business ideas. Here is a short list of some common ones:
* Crafts
* Tax prepares
* Consultants
* Selling surplus items (on eBay)
* Sewing (clothing, wedding dresses)
* Writing
* Health products
These are just a few. Service businesses do well if you have a space in your home to conduct business. Other businesses can be run from home with customer contact done through telephone, email, or fax.
If you want to turn your hobby into a home-based business, here are a couple of more things to work out before you get started. These pertain to running the business.
1. Register your business. Choose a business name and register it with the city or town where you live.
2. Create a business plan. This is just a road map to get you started in the direction that you want to go with the business.
3. Check out the tax implications of a home business. The IRS website has tons of information about tax requirements and deductions for the small business owner and the freelancer.
4. Work out your method of product delivery. With crafts that are delicate, you don't want anything to get broken in shipment. You can package the items yourself or pay a shipping company to do it.
Hobbies are good ways to start a business at home. You have the advantage of being familiar with the product and in control of advertising, with low overhead. Even after reading the above information, you still don't know how to get started then take a look at SBI, they will show you how to turn your hobbies into a business.

How To Become A Super Affiliate
The NetMarketer
Affiliate marketing can be a great way to make money. Finding a niche market with products and services you trust and believe in is the first step to success. There are tremendous affiliate programs, which offer you an abundance of tools and materials to promote and market their products. However, what you do with those tools and materials is entirely up to you. You can be just another affiliate or a super affiliate.
What Is A Super Affiliate?
Technically speaking a super affiliate is someone who generates a significant amount of profits for the products or services they represent. A super affiliate can make a healthy living from their affiliate business alone while a standard every day affiliate may need to supplement their affiliate income with, gasp a 9-5 job!
Benefits To Being A Super Affiliate
The most significant benefit to being a super affiliate is the income. Many super affiliates make six figures simply promoting the products and services of others.
Additionally, if you're one of the main contributors to a company's affiliate program they're going to pay attention to you and your needs. You may receive a higher percentage of sales you may receive first shot with new marketing materials and programs and you'll get the support you need when you need it.
Here Are A Few Steps To Become A Super Affiliate:
Step One - Commit to publishing content every single day. Content has proven time and again to be the best sales tool available to affiliate marketers. Nothing, not even strategically placed ad copy works as well as providing quality content that pre-sells any product that you're promoting on your website.
Possible content includes:
* Auto responders.
* E-newsletters.
* Blogs posts
* Social networking via forums, social networking sites, and chat rooms
* Articles
* Press releases
Step Two - Track and test. Make sure you know where your prospects are coming from, what motivates them to click through and what information they read and respond to - then give them what they need. Tracking and testing is the only way to hone your affiliate program into a smooth running, money making machine.
Step Three - Use the provided marketing materials and be willing to take it a step further. Many affiliate programs do a great job of providing their affiliate with ready to marketing materials including:
1. Banner ads
2. Buttons
3. Email copy
4. Articles
5. Free promotional reports
Use the materials your affiliate manager has provided. It's been tested and developed for results. That being said, be sure to create your own content too. Even as an affiliate you are your own company and your website needs to reflect your personality and brand. Building a community around your website and providing valuable content is a sure way to create a following that trusts you and your credibility - which will result in click through and affiliate sales.
Step Four - Pre-sell. The good news is that your job as an affiliate is to pre-sell products and services. Pre-selling means your content, whether it is a review, article, tutorial, course, or blog post, speaks honestly about the products and services you promote. Pre-selling is about providing value to your website visitors and prospects, making them comfortable with you and your authority to generate interest and a click through to the company website, where the selling happens.
Step Five - Follow up. Just like your affiliate manager follows up with you to see how you're doing and what you need, follow up with your prospects. A great way to do this unobtrusively is to create a lead list by providing a newsletter visitors can subscribe, a free report, or any number of products in exchange for an email address and the permission to contact them with valuable information and special promotions.
Being a Super Affiliate is the only way to go if you want to build a successful affiliate marketing business. Find products and services you trust and believe in and then create a strategy to share information to your target audience. Test and track your efforts, focus on providing value to your prospects and leave the selling to the companies you represent. Helping others live better lives, without having to provide the products or services personally, is a great way to make a living. If you still don't know how to get started, then check out SBI. They will get you started the RIGHT way. Here are some real Testimonials.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?
The NetMarketer
On most websites you'll see advertising links at the top, bottom and on the sides. Most of the advertisements are related to the site. Displaying these ads on other sites could be a part of an affiliate marketing program.
Affiliate marketing is the idea of using other sites to help sell your products and drive traffic to your site. Affiliate marketing works best when everyone involved benefits from the process. If you need exposure for your products, get other business websites involved in making that happen.
Many websites offer affiliate programs. One of the more popular ones is Google AdWords. Some programs require you to just sign up, while others have an application that they ask you to fill out to evaluate if your website is right for their program.
Affiliate marketing is great for websites that don't have a product or service to sell but would like to generate revenue in some way. As a part of an affiliate marketing program, websites earn commissions for hosting your ads on their website. As you make money so do they.
You have worked hard to build your website. Maybe you have employed several strategies to increase your visibility on the Internet: SEO content, email marketing, eBooks, viral marketing and the like. Now you are ready for something new to increase your traffic and sales.
Affiliate marketing is easy and effective. The strategy here is to find your niche and decide what you will sell on your site. Develop a strong philosophy and operating policy to attract others to your affiliate program.
Investigate other affiliate programs. You may have joined a few when you were getting started to generate revenue. Learn how the better ones operate and their strategies for success. Before beginning your own, decide on commission rates, how you will pay your affiliates, and what benefits you will offer them.
Set yourself apart as a resource for your niche to increase your popularity. When you produce great search engine optimized content that is updated regularly, people come back to your site over and over again. You want them to have something fresh to see each time someone clicks on your links.
Affiliate marketing works for those who are also selling goods or services. They are not in direct competition with you so both of you can benefit. Get regular reports on how well the affiliate marketing strategy is working for you. Some products may sell better than others. Change the items you sell based on these numbers.
Affiliate marketing uses other popular websites to advertise for you and your website. With links to your products and services on other websites, you increase your traffic and hopefully your sales through this marketing strategy.

How To Increase your Customer Base
The NetMarketer
When it comes to growing an online business, one of the most common and most effective strategies is to increase your customer base. This is often accomplished by a variety of means including, social networking, word of mouth, search engine optimization tactics and advertising. Advertising, when done correctly, can actually be the most effective means of growing your business and your customer base.
What is Advertising?
Advertising is defined as the process of attracting attention to you business, by paid announcements in the print, broadcast, or electronic media (online). Online advertisements usually take the form of banner advertisements, pay per click advertisements or search engine advertisements, text ads, pop-up advertisements and video or audio.
In order to increase your customer base, it's important to choose not only the right type of advertisement but also the right location and to follow up with accurate testing and tracking.
Here are five steps to take to make sure your advertising strategy will produce the results you desire will increase your customer base.
Step One: Who is your Target Audience? It's important to make sure your advertisement is focused on an individual group of consumers. Writing an ad that appeals to everyone is difficult and will most likely not generate the results you're looking for. Remember you can write 10 ads, each one directed at a specific market segment within your total audience.
Step Two: Create a compelling ad. Writing online ads is much different than writing an advertisement for offline print. The goal for offline advertising is typically to capture someone's attention and generate memory. The goal for your online advertisement is to motivate a click to your website.
Step Three: What is your goal for the ad? Do you want to collect subscribers for your ezine? Send visitors to your website? Generate interest for an upcoming product launch? Make sure the copy, ad type, and location all fit your goals and then make sure you're sending click throughs to a relevant page.
Step Four: How will you test your advertisement's effectiveness? The goal is to know how many people are responding to your ads. It can be as simple as sending them to a unique sales page. You won't know if your ad is working unless you have put measures into place to track it. Additionally, test your ad copy, size, graphics etc for results. Use two ads each with different headlines, calls to action or even size and send them to identical sales pages. Which ad performs better?
Step Five: Make sure each new advertisement integrates into your current marketing strategy. That means including your promotions, press and publicity and even your email marketing into your advertisement strategy and vice versa. The goal of advertising, beyond motivating a click through, is to increase and expand awareness of your company. The larger your customer base the larger your sales and profits.

Do It For You, And No One Else
The NetMarketer
No matter what you do, there will always be nay Sayers out there to stand in your way. There is always going to be someone telling you that you can't accomplish your goal. The only person that can decide whether or not you can do it is you. Don't let people tell you that you can't get or don't deserve what you want.
- What Do Naysayers Say?
- Nay Sayers will usually say things such as this:
- You can't do it.
- It's too hard.
- You're wasting your time.
- Why don't you try this?
- You'll be better at it.
- That won't work.
- You're going to fail.
Any negative comment someone makes toward something that you're passionate about is going to stand in your way only if you let it. If you think well, everybody's telling me I can't, so I guess I can't. you're letting his or her words get to you. When you think Hey, I'm the only one in charge of what I can and can't accomplish, and I'm going to make it no matter what they say. it's a much more positive direction to go. These people will tell you that they're looking out for you and those they only want and know what's best for you, but you're the one that truly knows.
This ties in directly with working online. People will be there to tell you I tried it and it didn't work. It won't work for you either. Wrong. Every situation is different. You determine your online success. As long as you do the right things at the right time, you'll do fine. You've got to persevere and keep trying no matter how many times you are knocked down. Your first attempt at online success may not be perfect, but it will be an opportunity to learn something that you should do differently.
People fail online due to not trying hard enough and giving up when it gets tough. These folks truly aren't cut out for online success because there will be ups and downs no matter which way you go. More people fail because of flaws made in their first online business. This is normal; many people do not make it the first time. The ones who get up and dust themselves off and try it again are the ones that find success. It's not just going to come to them overnight, and they will always have people there telling them I told you it wouldn't work. They don't listen to these people. They know that they're the ones who can tell themselves that their idea will work if they keep at it.
When it seems like no one is backing you up and everyone is telling you that you will fail, it does make things harder because you seem to be all on your own. There still are people out there willing to help, though. People get put down and discouraged every day, and if nothing else, that sometimes is their biggest incentive to make it online because they've got something to throw back at the negativity. They've got success and no one can take it away.
