How to Keep Customs On Your Home Business Website

Copyright: Earl Williams
The NetMarketer

You can have the best looking website on the Internet and have taken all of the steps to make sure that you are advertising your home business in the best way for you; you still might not be in the home stretch. Even if you have people come to your website, you want to be sure that you can keep them there. This is something that is very important, and also very hard to do. A good website not only will attract people to it, but will also keep them looking and hopefully turn them into customers.

There are several ways that you can make sure you have the right kind of website for your business. First of all, the website has to open quickly. If your site takes too long to open because of too much video, your visitor will go some place else. Second, the website has to be as organized as possible. Many people are going to get frustrated if they can't easily see what is on your website, and if they cannot see it they will not be able to use the website as easily as possible. Remember that if a person cannot figure out how to use your website, chances are good that they will simply go away and not use it any more. Therefore you must be sure that your website is as organized as possible.

The other thing that you have to remember is that your website must be easy to use. If you have lots of different things to click on and many buttons, you might end up with a website that is much too hard to use. Therefore, you want to be sure that you have a website that you can make as easy as possible for others to use. Remember that the other thing a website needs is contact information. No matter what you want to do, you have to be sure that there is the right kind of contact information on your site.

If someone can't see how he or she can easily contact you, they might feel like they don't have to do so and will simply find another site. So, it is important that you find a good way to have your contact information on your website. One good place for the link is at the bottom of the page, that way they will have to look over all of your information before clicking on the contact link. The other thing that you have to remember when it comes to keeping customers is that you absolutely must be able to respond to them right away. IT is important that you are able to respond to your emails or your phone calls when people email you or call you with information or questions.

This is something that can mean the life or death of your business, so you want to be sure that you are doing it at all times. It might take some time to set up your website so that you will be able to keep customers, but you will find that this is something that is worth it in the end. This is going to help you make sure that you are able to be successful as a business owner and that you will also be able to get as much out of your business as you possibly can. Remember that this is very important for you to do.

Do Not Let Fraud Ruin Your Bank Account

Copyright: Earl Williams
The NetMarketer

When you are looking for a way to make money online, you should make sure you have your fraud detectors on full alert when you read through any proposals being presented. In most instances, it should be pretty easy to figure out if someone is trying to rip you off. Just remember the old advice that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So when those unsolicited offers drop into your email promising exorbitant amounts of income for only a few hours work a week, chances are it is a scam just to separate you from your money.

Some of the red flags to watch for are the type of proposal being made. Offers that say you have nothing to do to start earning big money immediately, will come with a cost. You will have to pay for someone else to set up your business and heck, all you have to do is keep sending in the monthly fees and you can earn money off all income received from your website. Wait. They forgot to mention that if you do not advertise your site no one will know about it and you cannot make any money if you have no sales.

Look for contact information before clicking on any links that take you from the main page. If the online business offers you a phone number and a name, do not hesitate to call and ask for that person. While it could be single line into someone's basement, at least it is contact information. However, if the call is answered in an unprofessional manner you may be better off apologizing for calling a wrong number and hanging up. Some legitimate businesses do work from their homes, after all that is what you are hoping to do, and if a child answers do not ask for mom or dad, ask for the name on the website.

Look at the testimonials that are bound to be included on any website offering a chance to make a lot of money. They are usually tucked in between the pictures of a mansion and a new car or two, supposedly of the person that sent you the email. Just remember, you can take your digital camera on a road trip to an upper class neighborhood and take pictures of cars and houses. Be skeptical about investing in an online business opportunity and do some research.

Run the business name through a couple of search engines. Chances are; if it is not a legitimate offer, there will be a few pages that show up of complaints from others that lost money investing in a scam. The company may claim the complaints are from disgruntled people who were too lazy to spend even a few hours a week working in the business, but a reasonably intelligent person can read through several complaints and see a pattern develop. By using due diligence in your research of companies offering business opportunities you can limit the opportunities of someone else of getting their hand on your wallet.

Do You Have The Qualities To Operate A Home Business?

Publisher Earl Williams

Not everyone has the qualities to own his or her own business and work from home. While many would like to think they have what it takes to stay at home and make money, the harsh reality is that many people just are not cut out to be a business owner. This even includes working online. Before handing in your hard hat or clipboard and walking out the door of your present job, you need to do some deep personal introspection and decide if you can actually be successful working at home.

If you have determined you are not cut out for working independently at home, it is nothing to be ashamed of. There are many people working for others who are not capable of being a manager or those that have no desire to get into management. That is OK because every business absolutely needs people to work the front lines and if you are happy with your position, it should be considered your own personal success to have a job that you enjoy doing and know you do it well.

On the other hand, if you are serious about starting your own business at home, you will have to decide if you have the self-discipline, the dedication and desire to work at home and can deal with all of the distractions associated with working out of the house. When you sit at home everyday, you are probably going to spend most of the time alone and if you are the type of person that needs others around you, spending all day, every day working by yourself, think about it for a minute? Chances are you will start looking for ways to mingle with others, usually at the expense of focusing on your business.

You need to realize up front that your income is not going to come in the form of a paycheck on a regular basis. Your livelihood is going to depend on how dedicated you are to the tasks that you assign yourself, based on the needs of your clients or customers. This truly puts you in the position of working more to earn more. If you choose to take too many days off, it will be reflected in your income as well as the number of past-due bills that arrive in your mailbox. If you are single and on your own, you are the only one affected by any decisions you make, however if you have a family they will benefit or suffer from your dedication to your business.

There will be no one looking over your shoulder and assigning any tasks for you to get done, nor will there be anyone handing you jobs that are needed. You will not only have to be dedicated to get any work completed on time, you will first have to hustle in the marketplace and find the work to do. This desire to have a lot of work and therefore a good income will have to be tempered by knowing your limitations. Taking more work than you can realistically get done on time can be just as bad as not finding any work. So, the best advise would be for you to keep your present job and start your home business as a part time job to make sure its what you want or if you are cut out to work from home along.

So. You Opened A Business. Now What?

Copyright: Earl Williams
The NetMarketer

It is now crunch time. You did all your research, developed a viable business plan and opened the front door for business. If no one is clamoring to get in, you might start to get the picture that there is more to opening a business than unlocking the front door. The idea that if you build it they will come was a great line for a movie, but that is all it was…a great line in a fictional story. In real life it just does not work.

If this is a real scenario for you obviously someone missed an important omission from your business plan. One of the first questions you should have asked yourself was who, or what will be your first customer, followed by the obvious second and third customer and so on. If that was not in your business plan, fire the person who helped you write it, close the front door and go back to work on the plan. Especially the part about where the customers are going to be found.
You have three basic choices in advertising, print, Internet and broadcast.

Any one of the three can help drive customers to your business but the message has to convince them it is worth the trip. Just opening the door is not going to be a good enough reason for people to make a visit to your store. Whether the business is in a brick and mortar building or based on the Internet, your potential customers have to have a reason to want to make the first trip and then decide they might want to come back later.

You have to consider what you are offering and develop a message aimed at the demographic that will have the most use for your product or service. If your business is strictly business-to-business, advertising in general circulation media is going to be a waste of money. Yes, advertising in business journal will be considerably more expensive, but the return on the advertising investment will be much higher as well. In broadcast media, consider the time of day as well as the programs on which your message will be played.

For instance, there are some national media groups that offer some inviting prices on their advertising package, but you have to figure out how many people that might use your product is going to be watching television at three in the morning. Maybe if you are pushing sleep aids it will help, but very few things are going to arouse the interest of people who simply cannot sleep. The program itself should also invite viewers with the same interests as the product. If you sell products or services for the older generation, money spent to advertise on Saturday morning cartoons is going to be lost.

Once you have determined the best way to get your message out to the right people, and set the plan in motion, it may be time to re-open the door and wait for your customers. If done correctly, they will be jostling to get in and give you their money.

Copyright: Earl Williams
The NetMarketer

Although affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and most effective ways to earn money online, it is not as easy as it sounds. Some of the things that keep going through most people minds are what does it take to become a successful Affiliate Marketer? What are the ingredients of an affiliate marketing success story? Is there a shortcut to Affiliate Marketing glory? All these questions play around in the minds of affiliate marketers who want to make it big in this business.

The wise affiliate marketer plans every action and executes it the best way he can. He should also maximize the potential to earn by utilizing the right tools necessary for a successful Affiliate Marketing business. We have consulted some of the most successful affiliate marketers in the business and below are the top three necessary tools for a successful affiliate marketing business.

Tool #1: Your Own Website or Web Page To Promote.

The most important and indispensable tool in Affiliate Marketing is your own website or a web page to promote your product or service. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Thus, you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the products and service you are promoting and make a purchase.

Therefore, you must first concentrate your efforts in building a website that will cater to what your prospects need. If you are not able to build your own website, then use the web page your affiliate provide. About all affiliate program today has a custom-built web page for you to promote their product or service. The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to look for information, not necessarily to go and buy something. Above all else, make your website full of original, relevant and useful content.

People will love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, on the Internet, content is still king and good quality content will not only build your credibility, it can also help you achieve a higher search engine ranking if your site has been optimized. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible expert in the field, making you a trustworthier endorser of the product or service you promote. Establishing a good reputation is a good step in building up a loyal consumer base.

Important Tool #2: Incentives

Competition is extremely tight in the Internet world. You must always be one-step ahead of your rivals to ensure that you capture a significant share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every possible means to encourage people not only to visit your site but also to click and proceed to the websites of the products and services you are promoting. Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free software, access to exclusive services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.

Important Tool #3: Link Popularity

The importance of driving highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be emphasized enough. The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most important entities in the Internet world. Attracting people to your site should be the first step you should carry out. Do everything to achieve a high search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to determine search engine rankings. Therefore, to enhance your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link campaign.

One of the best ways to do this – at no cost at all – is by submitting articles, with your website's link at the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites, also you can build a blog and link it to your website. You will not only gain exposure, you will also have the opportunity to advertise for free, just include a link back to your site. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Make your articles original, relevant and useful so that more websites will pick it up and post it.

These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate marketer can use to maximize earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and determination. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you think might help you become a high rolling affiliate marketer.

The key To Driving Traffic to Your Website

Copyright: Earl Williams
The NetMarketer

Online business is bigger than it ever has been, even during the booming days of the so-called “dot.com bubble”. The wealth is spread more evenly than ever before as well, with thousands of people every day making a fortune from their websites with online business ideas and ways to do things that no one has ever thought of before (or at least never had the courage of their convictions). If you have a website, and a great business idea, you may be wondering why this success has not come knocking on your door.

The answer is in marketing. Website traffic doesn’t happen automatically, and it rarely happens by accident. The most profitable and successful websites got that way through a concerted effort on advertising and spreading the word. If you’re not sure how to get started, here are a few things you can do to start driving traffic to your website. One of the most powerful tools any Internet entrepreneur will put to use is search engine optimization.

This is a fancy term for making your website attractive to Google and the like. This means adding fresh and relevant content on a daily basis, using specific keywords to populate your content, and using a variety of tags in order to entice the “spiders” these search engines use to crawl the World Wide Web. Reams have been written on the ins and outs of search engine optimization. Your best bet is to visit message boards and forums dedicated to the subject and learn all you can. On the other hand, if you have plenty of money, you may want to consider hiring a firm to optimize your website for you.

If you want to advertise with little out of pocket cost, your best bet might be pay-per-click advertising. Have you ever typed in a search phrase and seen those results in the sidebar that say, “Sponsored search results”. These ads are using pay-per-click advertising, and it can be a very effective way to get targeted traffic to your website. Ranking highly in the natural search engine rankings can be a difficult and arduous process, particularly if the keywords relevant to your website are highly competitive.

With pay-per-click, you simply bid on those keywords to ensure a good ranking on the first page of results. This type of advertising takes some tweaking and trial and error to find the right amount to spend per click, but once you nail down the science, it can be profitable. Of course, nothing will improve your search engine ranking faster than a ton of back links from higher-ranking websites. Of course, on the other hand, these links can be difficult to procure.

Link exchange can work, but the jury is out on how effective this is. Links to your website without a return link are much more powerful, and an indication to the search engines that your website has merit and is an authority in whatever field your website is in. There are more ways to drive traffic to your website than there are websites on the Internet. Try a bunch of different methods, and find out which ones work best for you. If you hit on one great way, it can be all you need to shoot your website into the stratosphere and you could be the next dot.com millionaire.
